Players and Parents,
After this weekends sweep and with the solid play of the last 7 games, 3 wins – 1 loss – 3 ties, we have put ourselves in contention to make the State Tournament with an At Large Bid!
The process for an at large bid is based on certain criteria. Teams need to be 4 games under .500 or better, you need to fill out an application, and have it seen my the selection committee. There is a state cutoff date for games to be played and that is Monday February 6th. The application needs to be sent in Tuesday February 7th.
I have spoke with some of the states higher-ups and I believe that we have a solid chance to have a chance to be selected as an at large team. We are currently 6-10-3 with 1 game remaining on the schedule. We would need to have 2 more wins to finish 8-10-3 to have a chance to make it in, so I have added another game to give our team the chance.
The game will be Monday, February 6th at 3:00pm at FLEMINGTON ICE ARENA, not Protec.
I am in the process of getting an opponent and will have that set by tomorrow night.
Everyone, make sure add the game to your schedule. Everyone should be available to play in this game as well unless you have a school obligation or are sick. There will be an early dismissal. I understand that we have left school early a good amount this year but this is one that I believe the players have deserved, to give them a chance at making the state tournament for the first time in 3 years.
I am extremely proud of the way the team has been playing and coming together and I believe that we can do this.
